Stupid Sleep Apnea
So I have mild sleep apnea. Boo. No more ambien. No more sleeping in. No more fun. Oh and I have to lose weight too. I'm rejoining weight watchers to see how it feels and I hope to drop a few pounds.

Vegetarian Diet

So I'm a full fledged vegetarian after giving up fish (15+ years later.) It's been very difficult having to restructure my eating habits to include more vegetable and fruit proteins. I'm also trying to lose 20 pounds so we'll see how long all this lasts. I've been enjoying the gym though. The elliptical is my great friend. I'm up to 25 minutes and over 1.5 miles. Preparing for AIDS Walk.

WTF?
According to my doctor, I gained 10 pounds. How is that possible? I've been working out and trying to eat right. Frustrating day.

Meditation and Yoga
Both my doctor and my therapist suggested I try meditation and get back into yoga. Today was the first day. The yoga was only 20 minutes so that wasn't bad (I'm a lot stiffer than I remember being.) The meditation was difficult. Trying not to focus on things that I'm worried about was hard but I feel relaxed but not sleepy. I'm also going to try and make a vision board. It's sort like a big poster with all your hopes and aspirations. It sounds hoakey but it helps you focus on your goals.

Walked to work and then the doctor's feel exhausted. Therapist and doctor feel I should do meditation and yoga. Will try my hardest.

9 pound mark
So I was given orders by my doctor to lose weight, probably @ 40 pounds. The first 9 were easy. These next 31 are going to be the tough ones. So I'm balancing with Slim Fast shakes (just one a day) and the Biggest Loser DVD, Cardio Max. You're supposed to do it 4 times a week. It's pretty rough going so far at only 30 minutes, you think that it would be a breeze. It would be a breeze if you were in shape. One thing I have found is that you foreman grill pierogies which are bloody delicious and filling. I'm also writing my food down (when I remember) and recording all my activity at www.presidentschallenge.com. It's actually quite useful. I'm not weighing myself for 6 weeks to see if the BL DVD really makes that big of a difference.

Happy 2008
My goal - as is most people's, is to get into shape for the new year - no really. Actually, my goal is to lose 10% of my body weight and keep it off. It's been hard with the holidays and frankly, life, but I'll give it the old college try. At least I lowered my cholestrol by 20 points so yeah for me:) Hope you all are having a wonderful and blessed new year, I hope to have one too:)
